My wife and I bought a couch from Dewey's Furniture 9/12/08. We were told when we were deciding to buy the couch, we had to decide now because they were loading the furniture on the truck. We had already fallen in love with the couch, so the pressure was no big deal. We were told the couch would be delivered on 9/18/08. I called on the 18th to confirm delivery and was told that the couch was actually just now loading. So why would it just now be loading on Thursday, the day it was supposed to be here? We feel like we were not told the truth, and the story about the truck "loading now" was said to hurry along our decision. Anyways, I called again on the 19th, she told us the couch was "on its way right now" and it would either be here this afternoon, which was a friday, or it would be here on monday. I don't understand how it could either be here that day, or monday? By this time I felt like I had been lied to and not treated with respect. The couch finally arrived late monday afternoon. They ordered the wrong color couch. When we ordered the couch we were sitting on the exact couch we wanted to order. Somehow they managed to mess it up. I am feeling thoroughly screwed over at this point.
BUYER BEWARE!!! I ordered a reclining chair on october 22, 2010. I had been told the day of ordering it would arrive on the truck the following Monday or Tuesday, we hadn't heard anything come wednesday, so we called & then we were told it was in the warehouse in the cities, and it would be here next week on the delivery truck which would have been November 3th. & she would notifiy me when she received the chair, and still no phone call. A week later on the 10th I had called and asked about the status of my chair, & she told me it was being loaded on the truck & we would be notified when she received it. Another week has passed no phone call, and I had called her again for the fourth time, I was told they were unloading a truck full of furniture at the warehouse, at Dewey Furniture, and it should be on the truck, I will call you and let you know this afternoon, once again no phone. So now i've about had it. Two weeks have gone by, NO PHONE CALL by her. I had called again on the 3rd of December, it was being loaded on the truck in the cities at the warehouse and it would be here first part of next week the 7th of Dec. & NO PHONE CALL. I then called that following Monday the 13th of December, & I was told the warehouse in the cities has finally got your chair in & is being shipped to Dewey's Furniture. The 28th of December she finally calls, the first phone call I had received from her in TWO MONTHS. & had said the chair was finally in. I will never buy from Dewey's Furniture again & I highly don't recommend it, unless you want to be lied to phone call after phone call. Not to mention she sounds like the sweetest lady when you do talk to her, very fake! I've never been treated so poorly as a customer anywhere in my life. I will never spend another dime in this store, and I only hope my experience will help others in deciding where to buy furniture. The chair is great, the service is extremely poor. No customer should ever have to go through this! Not to mention the busy signals day after day. Just beware if you are considering buying here. Id hate to see someone else go through what we have had to, then again I've read reviews everywhere about this place,after the fact I bought a recliner. Many people have went through the same problems. I was always so pleasant when I called.
