I have had the opportunity to utilize NCGS on multiple occasions over the years. Each time Matt has gone above and beyond. I've taken both my wife and boys on trips and we've come away with great experiences each time!
I've hired NCGS for multiple excursions in Northern MN, both for myself and for other members of my family. The hands on teaching and application of fishing techniques, has resulted in better fishing opportunities for me on my home waters.
I've taken several trips with North Country Guide service. From open water fishing on the rainy river to spending a couple nights on lake Bemidji in Matt's sleeer houses. All trips were excellent! My favorite trips with NCGS are spring and summer foraging trips! All around great experiences.
Matt and crew are incredible. I've had the opportunity to help out during the winter months and couldn't be more privledged. Matt has amazing knowledge in the Bemidji and surrounding area. If it's a fishing trip(open or hard water) bear hunting, or for a walk in the woods to find morel mushrooms, NCGS is the way to go!
I've also picked wild edibles with Matt mid-late summer, and had great harvest of species like chicken of the woods, hen of the woods, bolete, hedgehog, as well as wild berries. I would highly recommend NCGS to anyone traveling to Northern MN
